GREAT LAKES, Ill. (Apr. 28, 2009) Rear Adm. Douglass T. Biesel, commander, Navy Region Midwest, is presented the Distinguished Eagle Scout Award by his former scoutmaster, Thom Helmacy, as Biesel's wife and daughter look on during an Eagle Scout Recognition ceremony for the Northeast Illinois Boy Scout Council at Naval Station Great Lakes. The Distinguished Eagle Scout Award was established in 1969 to recognize Eagle Scouts who have distinguished themselves in their profession and with their community.
