Title page to a tract entitled "De Italiaansche Waarzegger, Esopus, Antonio magino, en Dirk Rembrantz van Nierop", no. 22 in the series entitled "Esopus in Europa"; in the centre, an etching showing Aesop, a hunchback with a crutch, upwards to where Louis XIV's chariot falls from the sky; this is also observed by the "Italian wizard", an old man wearing thick glasses who holds up a prismatic glass, Giovanni Antonio Magini, seen from the back, and Dirck Rembrandtz. van Nierop, using a cross-staff and holding dividers on a globe; beyond them three men are using a large telescope. On the left, behind, is a picture illustrating the fable of the old capon (Louis XIV) who has hatched the eggs of a number of different birds, and is attacked by the (Imperial) eagle. 1702
