description

Summary

Bethesda, Md. (Jul. 30, 2005) President George W. Bush speaks to media after undergoing his annual physical at the National Naval Medical Center in Bethesda, Md. July 30. The president said very few words about his own health and focused on his comments on his feelings about the wounded patients he visited during his trip to the naval hospital. He said he was grateful to get the chance to meet with the brave warfighters and their families, and that their "courage can be found no where else in the world." Bush awarded seven Purple Hearts during the visit, known as the "President's Hospital" because it is historically the place where all U.S. presidents receive their medical annual exams. The hospital is located on a 243-acre compound and is staffed with more than 4,500 military and civilian personnel. U.S. Navy photo by Ellen Maurer File# 050730-N-2338M-001
