Between the intervals of treatment the smaller cath-eter is clamped. The question of drainage of the bladder throughthe urethra as supplementary to suprapubic drainage may betaken up here. It may be said that, as a rule, suprapubic drain-age meets the indications. However, in some instances, espe-cially where the bladder is severely infected, there is no objectionto the additional use of dependent drainage.
