Summary

A familiar bridge but a different focus. We have seen this bridge before from the other side ( https://www.flickr.com/photos/nlireland/9464854780/ ) . But today, the focus is on the Post Office at Carnlough in Co. Antrim. The scene really has a charm all its own!..With thanks to today's contributors, there's a suggestion that this image may date from the latter half of the catalogue range - possibly early 20th rather than late 19th century. If so, those pictured at the Post Office door may be members of the McSparron family ( http://www.census.nationalarchives.ie/reels/nai000363851/ ) , who were running it at the time of the 1901 and later 1911 census.......Photographer: Robert French..Collection: Lawrence Photograph Collection ( http://catalogue.nli.ie/Collection/vtls000313414 ) ..Date: between ca. 1865-1914..NLI Ref: L_ROY_06575 ( http://catalogue.nli.ie/Record/vtls000320406 ) ..You can also view this image, and many thousands of others, on the NLI’s catalogue at catalogue.nli.ie ( http://catalogue.nli.ie )
