PACIFIC OCEAN (May. 17, 2009) Platinum-selling recording artist Edwin McCain sings his hit "I'll Be" for Master-at-Arms 3rd Class Kevin Murphy, right, from Brockton, Mass., while Mass Communication Specialist 2nd Class Elliott Fabrizio, from San Diego, records the performance for Murphy's fianc in the media department aboard the aircraft carrier USS John C. Stennis (CVN 74). McCain is aboard John C. Stennis performing a concert for the crew as part of a Morale, Welfare and Recreation sponsored event. John C. In the United States Navy, these consist of ships commissioned with hull classification symbols CV (aircraft carrier), CVA (attack aircraft carrier), CVB (large aircraft carrier), CVL (light aircraft carrier), CVN (aircraft carrier (nuclear propulsion) and CVAN (attack aircraft carrier (nuclear propulsion). The first aircraft carrier commissioned into the United States Navy was USS Langley (CV-1) on 20 March 1922.
