Old Croton Aqueduct, Sing Sing Kill Bridge, Spanning Aqueduct Street & Broadway, Ossining, Westchester County, NY
Summary
Significance: The Old Croton Aqueduct is an outstanding example of 19th century civil engineering and was New York City's first municipal water project. The Sing Sing Kill Bridge, as designed, consists of a long embankment broken by three arched spans of 20', 6' and 88'. This arrangement was more economical than spanning the entire valley with arches.
