Summary
ヌード
Iwata Nakayama was a Japanese artist and printmaker known for his woodblock prints. He was born in Tokyo in 1895 and studied at the Tokyo School of Fine Arts (now Tokyo University of the Arts). Nakayama's early works were influenced by traditional Japanese art, especially ukiyo-e prints. However, he also incorporated elements of Western art into his work, such as the use of perspective and shading. During World War II, Nakayama worked as a propaganda artist for the Japanese government, creating posters and illustrations to promote the war effort. After the war he continued to make prints and became a member of the Japan Print Association. Nakayama's prints often depicted landscapes, cityscapes and scenes from everyday life. His use of bold colours and strong lines gave his work a distinctive style. He died in 1949 at the age of 54.
