Aristarkh Lentulov (1882-1943) was a Russian avant-garde artist and a member of the Cubo-Futurist movement. He was born in Nizhny Lomov, Russia, and studied art in Moscow and Paris. Lentulov's early work was influenced by the Impressionists and Post-Impressionists, but he later developed his own style, combining elements of Cubism and Futurism. He was particularly interested in the use of colour and the relationship between form and space. Lentulov was also involved in the Russian Revolution and worked as a set designer for the Moscow Art Theatre. He continued to produce art throughout his life, but his work was suppressed during the Stalinist era. Today, Lentulov is recognised as one of the leading figures of the Russian avant-garde and his work is highly valued by collectors and museums around the world.
