Significance: The mill is historically significant for its association with the development of the West Side Milling District in Minneapolis. Established in 1864, the mill remained in operation until its closure in 1949. It was the first water powered mill in the West Side Milling District and reflects the industrial development that occurred along the Mississippi River during the 19th century.
