Nicollet Hotel, 235 Hennepin Avenue, Minneapolis, Hennepin County, MN
Summary
Significance: The Nicollet Hotel is one of two remaining early twentieth century hotels in Minneapolis today. Unlike the Leamington Hotel, however, which is slated for demolition as part of the new convention center development, the Nicollet was built as a conscious attempt at modern hotel design by 1924 standards. It has the better remaining integrity of the two hotels, and was not a product of accretion over the years, as the Leamington, Curtis, and Radisson hotels were.
