Summary

Significance: As a contributing element of the Naval Supply Center, Broadway Complex Historic District, Building 11 is significant at the local level for its historical associations with the Navy in San Diego and for its architectural qualities as one of the earliest major structures in the harbor area. Constructed in 1942, the building supported Navy supply requirements in the Pacific through World War II. During the period from the 1920s through the end of World War II, the Navy established a major presence on San Diego Bay, with significance to the city and the Navy's military operations in the Pacific.
