NASA Industrial Plant, 12214 Lakewood Boulevard, Downey, Los Angeles County, CA

Significance: The site was one of the country's earliest airplane manufacturing plants and has been instrumental in the development of flight technology including military, supersonic, and high altitude flight vehicles, the manufacturing process of these vehicles, missile technology, guidance systems as well as the Apollo and Space Shuttle programs. The structures included in this report comprise a fraction of the overall facility and are located in the northeastern region of the site.
