Paper; moderately heavy cream colored paper; elaborately illuminated; text in gold (folio 1b and 2a) 2b to end black ink within five colored borders, from outside in blue, red, gold, red, green ; pages divided into four sections of varying lenth to accomodate main text (in Arabic) and translation, 1 or two lines being contained in each box, determined by an even number of lines of poetry and translation presented on pages containing 7 lines each; Arabic text in larger boxes (approximately 6 x 3.5 cm) with elaborate interlinear decoration; Persian translation in narrower boxes (approximately 4 x 3 cm) with panels of floral decoration on either side; unknown Persian text on folio 1a part of which is missing along the left margin due to trimming and on the upper right margin due to damage to the first folio (mended with some loss of this text but no damage to main text); the name and date Vahīd Ḥusaynī 1209 [1794 or 1795] appears at the lower left corner of the written area folio 7b; unknown Persian text in a later hand appears on endpaper.
