SANTO DOMINGO, Dominican Republic, (Sep. 20, 2010) Members of the Dominican Republic defense forces load pallets of Project Handclasp humanitarian aid delivered by High Speed Vessel Swift (HSV 2). Project Handclasp transports educational, humanitarian and goodwill materials on a space-available basis aboard U.S. Navy ships. Swift is supporting Southern Partnership Station, a deployment of various specialty platforms to the U.S. Southern Command area of responsibility in the Caribbean and Central America.
