MASTER Sergeant Cindie McKenna, a world class ultra-marathon runner and Oregon Air National Guard member, assigned to the 142nd Maintenance Squadron, Portland ANG Base during her marathon run from Fort Hood to the Oregon coast. For the 14th annual Hood to the Coast relay race, she did something no one had done before, she ran the 196-miles solo! The 45 year old McKenna, is rated as one of the top five ultra-marathon runners in her age group in the United States. Accompanied by a volunteer support crew she completed the grueling race in 52-hours, without sleeping, only pausing to eat and rest her feet
