Marines can haul it all
Summary
U.S. Marines with the 26th Marine Expeditionary Unit prepare to sling load a 5,000-pound steel crate to a CH-53E Super Stallion just outside Camp Lemonnier, Djibouti, Aug. 2, 2013. With about a 16-ton maximum external load, the Super Stallion is one of the Marine Corps workhorses when it comes to transporting supplies through the air. The 26th MEU is a Marine Air-Ground Task Force forward-deployed to the U.S. 5th Fleet area of responsibility serving a sea-based, expeditionary crisis response force capable of conducting amphibious operations across the full range of military operations including supporting Combined Joint Task Force-Horn of Africa.
