Signed in pencil: J. Whistler.
Cream wove paper.
Matted with the drawing: a carbon letter dated May 8, 1936, from Lillian Palmer to Putnam, Librarian of Congress, explaining the circumstances of her finding the drawing and its subsequent acquisition by the Library.
