Lunalilo's Tomb, Punchbowl & King Streets (Kawaiahao Churchyard), Honolulu, Honolulu County, HI

description

Summary

Significance: King Lunalilo's tomb, one of the early concrete block buildings in Hawaii, was built at the direction of Lunalilo's will. Apparently because of disagreement with a rival branch of the royal family, Lunalilo chose to be buried in Kawaiahao Churchyard rather than the Royal Mausoleum.
