Lt. Col. Christopher Johnson, commanding officer of Combat Logistics Battalion 31, 31st Marine Expeditionary Unit, addresses Marines during the Maneuver Company activation ceremony at Camp Hansen, Okinawa, Japan, Aug. 30, 2019. Composed of engineers, motor transport and landing support, Maneuver Company was activated to optimize training while in garrison and to excel in distributed operations when deployed with the 31st MEU. The 31st MEU, the Marine Corps' only continuously forward-deployed MEU, provides a flexible and lethal force ready to perform a wide range of military operations as the premier crisis response force in the Indo-Pacific region.
