Little Belgian orphans who retreated from Dixmude with Belgian soldiers when the Germans passed through Belgium in November 1914. These children suffered from ill nourishment, cold and fatigue during the winter 1914, and 1915 and were rescued by the Comite Franco-Amercain pour la protection des Enfants de la Frontiere. Now at Les Clarisses at Versailles, under special protection of Countess de Viel Castle, Mrs. Walter Gay and Countess Charles d'Ursel
