2008 Charles E. Peterson Prize, Honorable Mention
Significance: Library Hall, built in 1896, was one of the first buildings on the University of Illinois at Champaign-Urbana's Quadrangle and remains its cornerstone to this day. The building was designed by the first person to ever receive a degree in architecture in the United States, Nathan Clifford Ricker, who is a graduate and former Director of the University's Department of Architecture.
