Letter from George Thompson, London, [England], to Henry Clarke Wright, 1846 May 14

George Thompson writes to Henry Clarke Wright in regards to bringing his wife home from Devonshire and of sending him "some amendments, which I brought forward at the India House yesterday." The London Times has picked up his writing and "thus my object is answered-publicity in regard to the finances of India, -the treatment of the natives,- and the gross injustice of being liberal at the expense of an impoverished & unrepresented population." He is expected at the Music Hall by Buffum. He has written Douglass to say "that, in my opinion, he should be at the Anti-Slavery Meeting, here, on Monday next." If he attends, the three of them will return to Edinburgh together.
