Learning to read and write by touch. The soldier is reading the raised dot characters kown as "Braille". The sailor is writing the same system upon the Hall "Braille" Typewriter. If the blind wish to write "Braille" in "Long Hand", the use in the place of the pencil with a lead point, a stylus with a steel point, with which they press the dots into the paper.
