Summary

Photo taken at the tiny Lisselton Station, Co. Kerry...According to abandoned railways ( abandonedrailsireland/ ) , the "pivot on the turntable was eccentric [wasn't in the centre]. They had to switch twice for each junction. Balance was a big problem for every journey."..johnnyg1955 ( johnnyg1955/ ) was really lucky to see original drawings of these rather bizarre but beautiful engines:."When I was an apprentice at Hunslet Engine Co in the early 1970's, I remember spending time looking through old drawings held in a basement in the company and coming across the original drawings for these locos. They were drawn in ink on linen and were absolute works of art and they were over 80 years old then." John also provided us all with a link to the Lartigue Monorail ( http://www.lartiguemonorail.com/index.php ) site...Date: Circa 1890..NLI Ref.: LIMP 3116 ( vtls000057539 )
