The service members utilized combat rubber raiding crafts to operationalize USNS Sacagawea (T-AKE 2), conduct beach insertions and transport supplies and personnel from ship to shore. Lee, from Kearneysville, West Virginia, and Lyons, from Peoria, Illinois, are engineers and CRRC operators with Task Force Koa Moana and are originally assigned to Company B, 9th Engineer Support Battalion, 3rd Marine Logistics Group, III Marine Expeditionary Force.
