Kuzma Sergeevich Petrov-Vodkin (1878–1939) An outstanding Russian painter and theater artist, graphic artist and art theorist, teacher, and writer. He was a member of the World of Art group, one of the co-founders of the "Wolfila" (Free Philosophical Association), a member of the Four Arts association. Participated in the Paris Salons, the Golden Fleece exhibitions, the International Baltic Exhibition (Sweden), the "Zhar-Tsvet" society. He was awarded the title of Honored Painter of Russia. He devoted a lot of effort to the activities of a teacher, developments in the theory of painting, and was engaged in the reorganization of the art education system.
