Know Your Mil: Senior Master Sgt. Scott Mckenzie and Tech. Sgt. William “Bill” Mckenzie
Summary
Senior Master Sgt. Scott Mckenzie and Tech. Sgt. William “Bill” Mckenzie share much more than the average camaraderie between Airman. The father-son duo have served alongside each other at the #171st Air Refueling Wing for the past eight years, during which time the Mckenzie’s have deployed twice together. Bill, a crew chief assigned to the 171st Aircraft Maintenance Squadron, had been recognized during a recent deployment for having no deficiencies of his aircrafts after multiple quality assurance evaluations. Bill looks forward to continuing his education with his military education benefits. Scott, an Accessories Element Branch Supervisor assigned to the 171st Maintenance Squadron, is a Robinson, Pa. native who served on active duty, the Georgia Air National Guard and finally came home to the Pennsylvania Air National Guard. Scott also has a daughter, Spc. Nicole McKenzie, assigned to A Company, 101st Signal Battalion in the New York Army National Guard. Nicole was recently recognized for using her combat lifesaver training to perform critical treatment on a 12-year-old boy who jumped off an overpass.
