It fell to our happy lot while in the woods to rescue a num-ber of the 132nd Infantry who had been wounded the day before. Lieutenant E. W. Kuehne, in command of a platoon of Company K towhich was assigned the task of mopping up the open ground between the eastbank of the Meuse and the woods, says in his report: The battalion had gone to the edge of the Bois de Chaume, when mycompany commander ordered me to take the platoon and mop up the areabetween the Meuse River and Bois de Chaume.
