Summary

On this folio from Walters manuscript W.649 the author, Naw'i Khabushani, prostrates himself before Prince Daniyal, son of Emperor Akbar, to whom he dedicated this poem.

Daniyal (1572–1605) Mirza was a Mughal prince and the son of Emperor Akbar. He was appointed as the Viceroy of the Deccan in 1600 by his half-brother, Emperor Jahangir. However, Daniyal Mirza died in 1605, before he could assume the office, and the post was instead given to another prince, Sultan Khurram (who later became Emperor Shah Jahan).
