Plants of the pristine industries of the River-side, now housing textile and paper converting and accessories, and the paper waste and junk industries which follow paper and metal products; one survivor of the older simpler industry where the owner is still craftsman; one empty plant placarded with the name of an exploiter's bankrupting industry; one where cabinet making in wood has evolved to machine work in furniture for hospitals, churches, and perochial schools; glimpses of the dominant mill and the dominant corporation, the river and the mountain. In 1936 the Connecticut in flood covered the stone supports of this bridge (Louis Belcky).
