Het voorwerp bestaat uit drie delen: de bronzen klokvormige schel, het ijzeren oog, de ijzeren klepel. Op de onderste rand van de schel het opschrift GHEGOTEN INT IAER 1551. Daarboven de inscriptie AVE GRACIA PLENA tussen een figuratie, bestaande uit de lezende Maria, een engel, en een vaas met lelies (De Verkondiging/Annunciatie). Rondom decoratieve motieven, waarin o.a. dolfijnenkoppen, gestileerde knoppen en acanthusbladeren te herkennen zijn.
