Gouverneur Morris was an American statesman and Founding Father who is best known for his role in drafting the United States Constitution. He was a delegate to the Constitutional Convention and is credited with contributing significantly to the final document. Morris was also an influential figure in the early government of the United States and served as a member of the Continental Congress, a minister to France, and a senator from Pennsylvania.
