Vincenzo Caprile studied at the Academy of Fine Arts in Naples under Domenico Morelli and Gabriele Smargiassi. He was a member of the Resina School, associated with Filippo Palizzi. His seascapes capture the everyday life of the region, depicting the cliffs and beaches of Positano, Amalfi, Ravello and the Gulf of Salerno. Notable works include 'La Fanciulla di Positano' and a portrait of the owner of the Covo dei Saraceni. In collaboration with other Neapolitan Impressionist painters such as Luca Postiglione, Pietro Scoppetta, Vincenzo Volpe, Edoardo Matania, Attilio Pratella, Giuseppe Alberto Cocco, Giuseppe Casciaro, Giuseppe Chiarolanza, Gaetano Esposito, Vincenzo Migliaro and Vincenzo Irolli, he helped to decorate the interiors of the Caffè Gambrinus in Naples.
