Summary

Significance: The house is a typical example of a working-class house of the period in the east side of Indianapolis. Built circa 1863-64, the George and Netty Holler House was a working class residence typical of the period in the area of Indianapolis known as Lockerbie Square. The two bay house, built on a characteristic narrow lot, is of frame construction covered with clapboarding. An apparently original front porch and later shed addition at the rear were removed in 1970. The house is under restoration by the Indianapolis chapter of Women-in-Construction.
