Summary
Scope and content: On pages 275 and 276 of General Patton's book, "War As I Knew It," Patton describes the events leading up to and including the one depicted in this photo. He states that he, Eisenhower and Bradley learned later, that the person in the striped shirt, demonstrating the torture, was actually one of the camp's executioners. Patton notes that this man was killed the next day after the tour, by some of the other inmates.
