EXERCISE CHOKEPOINT O4 - ATLANTIC

CARIBBEAN SEA (Nov. 17, 2004)--During Exercise CHOKEPOINT '04, A boarding team from the Coast Guard Cutter Harriet Lane, along with technical advisors from the U.K., Netherlands and France are delivered by a British Royal Navy small boat to board a simulated Liberian motor vessel believed to be carrying material to be used in the development of weapons of mass destruction. This Proliferation Security Initiative exercise involved 16-nations and focused on improving information sharing and interdictioncapabilities in an effort to prevent the proliferation of WMDs and the material required to make them.
