GULF OF GUINEA (Mar. 24, 2010) Ensign Michael Manaski, from Virginia Beach, Va., assigned to the Whidbey Island-class amphibious dock-landing ship USS Gunston Hall (LSD 44), watches as the re-fueling hose from the German navy Type 702 Berlin-class combat support ship Frankfurt Am Main (A 1427) is pulled in during an underway replenishment. Gunston Hall is deployed as part of Africa Partnership Station West, an international initiative developed by Naval Forces Europe and Naval Forces Africa to improve maritime safety and security on the African continent.
