Summary

PACIFIC OCEAN (Sep. 02, 2015) The amphibious transport dock USS New Orleans (LPD 18), the Military Sealift Command aviation logistics support ship SS Curtiss (T-AVB 4), the amphibious transport dock USS Somerset (LPD 25), the Mexican Navy patrol vessel ARM Usumacinta (A 412) and the Mexican Navy patrol vessel ARM Revolucion (P 164) participate in a simulated strait transit. The ships are underway off the coast of Southern California participating in Dawn Blitz 2015 (DB-15). DB-15 is a multinational training exercise being conducted by Expeditionary Strike Group 3 (ESG-3) and 1st MEB to build U.S., Japan, Mexico and New Zealand's amphibious, and command and control capabilities through live, simulated, and constructive military training activities.
