Portrait of Prince Daniyal (brother of Emperor Jahangir r. 1605-1627) in ink, opaque watercolors, and gold on paper

Daniyal (1572–1605) Mirza was a Mughal prince and the son of Emperor Akbar. He was appointed as the Viceroy of the Deccan in 1600 by his half-brother, Emperor Jahangir. However, Daniyal Mirza died in 1605, before he could assume the office, and the post was instead given to another prince, Sultan Khurram (who later became Emperor Shah Jahan).
