Dancers perform a traditional dance during a cultural celebration with U.S. Army and Air National Guardsmen at Thebephatshwa Air Base in Botswana on July 13, 2019. In addition to the dance, musicians from both forces gave traditional and popular music performances as a way to share each other’s culture. More than 170 Army and Air Guardsmen from North Carolina, Alabama, and New Jersey traveled to Botswana to participate in Upward Minuteman 2019, a U.S. Africa Command exercise promoting the U.S. National Guard’s State Partnership Programs on the African Continent.
