Crater Lake Administration Complex, Mess Hall, Munson Valley, Rim Drive off State Highway 62, Klamath Falls, Klamath County, OR

Significance: The Mess Hall is the second oldest stone structure at Munson Valley. It was one of three known building projects in the park in 1929. Despite interior alterations and some exterior modifications, the Mess Hall retains its basic design integrity as an example of NPS rustic architecture. It pre-dates Merel Sager's experiments with massive boulders and thus provides information on the development of the rustic masonry vocabulary at the park. It is significant architecturally as an example of early NPS rustic, and historically for its association with the park's development and Merel Sager.
