TANG ISLAND, Cambodia (May. 03, 2012) Col. Michael S. Palermo listens to a service member from the Royal Cambodian Armed Forces tell the story of a military helicopter crashing into the Gulf of Thailand. Palermo is on the island observing a search for three Marines lost in the last battle of the Vietnam War on May 15, 1975, during the discovery of the artifacts. Due to the hostile environment the Marine Corps was unable to return to the island after the war to search and recover the bodies of the three missing Marines.
