VARNA, Bulgaria (Nov. 18, 2008) Chief Cryptologic Technician (Technical) Kevin Murphy, assigned to the amphibious command ship USS Mount Whitney (LCC 20), explains to 5th grade students at Secondary School Petko R. Slaveykov in Varna, Bulgaria about American traditions and lifestyle and what it is like to be a member of the U.S. military. Mount Whitney, based in Gaeta, Italy, is on a scheduled deployment to the Black Sea and has made scheduled stops in Bulgaria, Romania and Ukraine in the past 19 days. Members of the crew have participated in community service projects, school visits and staff talks. The ship also participated in the Black Sea Partnership Cruise.
