Cermets 2 Steatite Granulation Process Vibrating screen to separate steatite granules by size 2012 002 5979
Summary
2. To better control density and shrinkage factors, the steatite mixture is dried and ground into a coarse powder. It is then reground and vibrated through a series of fine screens which separate the steatite by particular size, Only those granules which meet specific size standards are used. The remainder are discarded. An additional mixing operation blends the granules to ensure 100% batch consistency. Special temperature-controlled storage cabinets maintain the moisture level and conditions the steatite mixture, thus retainig the required bulk density factor.
