Summary

Significance: The scenic drive is an early example of the cooperative agreement between the NPS and BPR to build modern automotive roads within the national parks. Extant features of Cape Royal Road and Point Imperial spur include original alignment; pullouts and parking areas with scenic views; minimal landscape scarring; and some of the oldest dry rubble masonry structures within the park.
