OAK HARBOR, Wash. (Jun. 12, 2010) Dr. Allyson Brooks, Washington State Historic Preservation officer; Capt. Gerral David, commanding officer of Naval Air Station Whidbey Island; Lesli Appleby, from Dallas, and Vicki Lucas, from Spangdahlem Air Base, Germany, granddaughters of Adm. Cyril T. Simard; and Jim Palmer, an Oak Harbor, Wash. city council member; cut the ribbon during a dedication ceremony renaming building 12 to Simard Hall at the Naval Air Station Whidbey Island Seaplane Base.
