description

Summary

Vase and Bowl.
This type of underglaze blue is called ‘powder blue’. It was achieved by spraying the cobalt pigment through a tube covered at the end with gauze on the unfired piece. The pigment particles were thus unevenly distributed over the surface. The object was then fired and glazed. The result is a lively blue structure with an effect of depth.
