NORFOLK (Dec. 02, 2011) Boatswain's Mate Seaman Apprentice Ryan Smith and Seaman Adam Reser heave around a mooring line on the foc'sle of the amphibious transport dock ship USS Ponce (LPD 15) as the ship ties up at Pier 2 at Naval Station Norfolk. Ponce is returning to its homeport for the final time after completing its last week at sea. After 40 years of service Ponce's crew is beginning the process that will result in the ship's decommissioning in 2012.
