This codex consists of two parts that were united in the 9th century already. The first part, written in Mainz (ff. 1-110), contains the second book of Cassiodorus' Institutiones, which is devoted to secular knowledge; since the 9th century, it has been preserved in several manuscripts in an interpolated version that contains Cassiodorus’ remarks on grammar, rhetoric, dialectic, arithmetic, music, geometry and astronomy, supplemented with excerpts from Quintilian, Boethius, Augustine and others. The second part, written in Mainz or in Saint-Amand (ff. 111–126), contains the picture poems of Optatianus Porphyrius as well as some from the beginning of the reign of Charlemagne.
Deutsch: Der Codex besteht aus zwei bereits im 9. Jahrhundert vereinigten Teilen. Der erste, in Mainz geschriebene Teil (f. 1-110) enthält das zweite, dem weltlichen Wissen gewidmete Buch von Cassiodors Institutiones in einer ab dem 9. Jh. in mehreren Handschriften überlieferten interpolierten Fassung, die Cassiodors Ausführungen zu Grammatik, Rhetorik, Dialektik, Arithmetik, Musik, Geometrie und Astronomie durch Exzerpte aus Quintilian, Boethius, Augustinus und anderen ergänzt. Der zweite, in Mainz oder Saint-Amand geschriebene Teil (f. 111–126) enthält die Figurengedichte des Optatianus Porphyrius sowie solche aus der Frühzeit Karls des Grossen.
Français : Le manuscrit se compose de deux parties déjà réunies au IXe siècle. La première partie écrite à Mayence (ff. 1-110) contient le second livre des Institutiones de Cassiodore dédié au savoir profane dans une version interpolée transmise dans plusieurs manuscrits dès le IXe siècle, qui complète les explications de Cassiodore sur la grammaire, la rhétorique, la dialectique, l’arithmétique, la musique, la géométrie et l’astronomie par des extraits de Quintilien, Boèce, Augustin et autres. La deuxième partie, copiée à Mayence ou à Saint-Amand (ff. 111-126), contient les carmina figurata de Publilius Optatianus Porfirius, ainsi que ceux du début du règne de Charlemagne.

La prima parte scritta a Magonza (cc. 1-110) contiene il secondo libro delle Institutiones di Cassiodoro dedicato al sapere laico in una versione interpolata tramandata in diversi manoscritti dal IX secolo in poi, che integra le spiegazioni di Cassiodoro sulla grammatica, retorica, dialettica, aritmetica, musica, geometria e astronomia con estratti da Quintiliano, Boezio, Agostino e altri. La seconda parte, scritta a Magonza o a Saint-Amand (cc. 111-126), contiene i carmina figurata di Porfirio Optaziano e quelle della prima epoca di Carlo Magno.
